Cast...

Today Daniel got his cast. The first photo was his splint. The second photo was the the first layer of the cast and the last photo was the last layer on the cast. Yes, he choose to have a camo cast. Pretty cool if you ask me. They have about 10 different covering to choose from - teddy bears, hot pink, american flag, yellow, blue, red etc. This is a fiberglass cast. The nurse wet the fiber glass then wraped it around the splint. It heats up and feels really warm. Daniel was surprised on how warm it made his are feel. He will have this cast on for 3 weeks. The bones will then be "sticky". I guess that meant not all the way healed but healed enough so that he will be able to start moving the elbow again. He will have very little movement and they will want him to work and do exercises the help get his mobility back. He will not be able to do any P.E. for another 3 weeks once it is out of the cast because the elbow will be "sticky". Another 3 weeks of Richard bathing him and me help dressing him for school.

I love the cast! So it just struck me, was Daniel planning on playing baseball this season? I hope not, considering...
